I am passionate about preserving New Zealand’s heritage and communicating our history to a range of audiences. People who know more about their heritage are more likely to be advocates for its preservation.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Victoria University and my Masters in History at Auckland. My thesis examined home gardening in New Zealand between 1945 and 1970.
After a period in the magazine and online marketing industries, I returned to study and gained a post-graduate diploma in Museum and Heritage Studies. Since then, I’ve been working as a contract research historian. Projects have included a range of organisations and topics, but have generally focused on New Zealand’s social and built heritage.
